The Global Prize

Celebrating Excellence. Honouring Legacy. Inspiring Generations.

UN

Launched in April 2025, The Global Prize is a project within the context of the United Nations’ Second Decade for People of African Descent (2025–2034). It is a work-in-progress for what the team behind it is convinced will be a prestigious international award dedicated to recognising and celebrating outstanding achievements by people of African descent worldwide.

Fully inspired, motivated and enthusiastic, the team is confident that The Global Prize will be a tangible, visible legacy project of the Second Decade, aligning with the UN pillars: Recognition, Justice, and Development.

Our Mission

To spotlight and celebrate the achievements of people of African descent across the globe—recognizing their impact, telling their stories, and inspiring future generations.
The Global Prize exists to affirm Black excellence, build a legacy of recognition, and provide a platform where innovation, leadership, and service by Afro-descendants are honoured on the world stage.

Our Vision

We envision a world where the brilliance and contributions of people of African descent are fully acknowledged and deeply valued—where stories of Black excellence are not just remembered, but celebrated, taught, and upheld as part of global heritage.
Through The Global Prize, we aim to build a tradition of recognition that inspires hope, drives progress, and bridges communities around the world.

Our Goals

We believe that celebrating achievement goes beyond applause. It’s about creating opportunities, fostering pride, and writing a richer global story. The Global Prize pursues the following core goals:
